Fun !

The important thing about art of any form is to not get lost in the world of art for arts sake, but to participate in it for the joy, love and pleasure it gives you.

For me, having fun with my medium is very important, this is not to say I do not take my work seriously. I am always learning, exploring, researching and practicing, but I must enjoy what I am working on and even more importantly, I should do it just for "me".

As I have mentioned before, I like to look at the everyday and try to photograph it in a new and different way. Sometimes it works other times it's a lesson learnt that not all ideas transfer from my mind to the camera.

I worked on a series of photographs inspired by "Sweets". This project was "fun" and it was one of the first times I approached photography from a set-up still life angle. Overall I was really happy with my results - also with the added bonus of getting to eat the still life when I was finished.
