CODA

- "A Concluding Section" -

CODA is a series of photographs that were part of my first solo exhibition in Cork, Ireland several years ago.

This collection was of everyday items which had been lost, discarded or abandoned. and I wanted to give them one last moment before they were forgotten forever.

I have always been drawn to abandoned or rejected subjects. There is a certain sadness when one sees something that was once loved or cherished but is now so longer wanted, so I feel that by taking their photograph I give them one last "hurrah".

All these objects were photographed in situ - at times in a hurry or driving past - but I didn't want to disturb their final resting place.

I often wonder at the "back story" - is there a child unable to sleep because a favourite toy is lost, has a new or "better" version taken it's place, why did a business stop ?

I hope you enjoy this collection which is available in full under "Projects" on my webpage and maybe you will imagine a different story for them and by doing so, these forgotten objects still live on...
