"One can speak poetry just by arranging colours well"

- Vincent Van Gogh -

Colour is very important to an artist as certain colours can give feelings of warmth or cold, while others evoke emotions such as happiness, anger and angst. Colour is used in everyday life and companies often use colours to make you buy something, stay longer or indeed move on quicker !

Colour is a powerful tool.

Andy Warhol was known for taking colour to the extreme while other artists such as the Impressionists often used a softer palette.

I enjoy using colour photography, particularly in my abstract work, often highlighting a certain colour or using just one area of colour to help lead the eye to the "soul" of a photograph.

Generally, (as in the photograph below) I like to play with tones and exposures, just like a painter uses their palette, to get the atmosphere or mood that I am looking for. This photograph "Jazz One" is part of a Triptych I worked on for an album cover.
